Sport of great appeal, it finds its ideal training spot in the mountains of Lake Como, those mountains that have trained generations of world-renowned mountaineers, first of all Riccardo Cassin. In the mountains around the lake there are many “via ferratas” and climbing faces. A well known via ferrata is the one to the top of Monte Grona 1736 m. Indoor climbing gyms are also located in Lecco and Premana.
From the top of Monte Grona (1736 m) one can admire one of the best views of the Prealps; apart from the three lakes (Como, Lugano and Piano) you can also see the close by peaks of Monte Bregagno, Legnone, Pizzo di Gino, Grigne and if the day is clear enough, many peaks of the Alps from Monviso to Bernina.
